Some police officers were killed by another explosion when they came to to the scene, trying to help. Another time, at least 15 Iraqi soldiers were killed in an army base. This was one of the worst strikes.

Iraq terror suspects escape in Kirkuk jail break
The article I read was about how seventeen prisoners escaped a jail in the city Kirkuk, this was including members of the al-Qaeda, also fighters from Salafist group all blamed for attacks on Iraq troops and American troops. They say the men used a rope made of blankets to get out through a small window at night. Now Iraq security forces are looking for them and they have already caught a man suspected of breaking out of the Kirkuk jail. It is also said from the police that they escaped through ventilation in the bathroom in the early hours of the morning. It is also though they drugged the guards. The jail was in central Kirkuk and most men were waiting trial but two had committed murder before. There were bombs targeted at Kirkuk a week ago and it is said 38 died in a wave of co-ordinate attacks in the country.

Some of Iraq's resources are; oil, rice, petroleum, natural gas, minerals (gold)....95% of Iraq is Muslim and the other 5% is Christian and others. 9. Many of the current events that talk about todays Iraq are about how the governement is falling apart. For example, Iraqs fugitive vice president was handed a second death sentance. A fugitive is someone who "escapes" the law, can you imagine the state of the country if the person who is trying to enforce the laws, breaks them? 10. Governement: The federal governement of Iraq is defined under the current constitution as Islamic. Many independant commission, Iraq included, have a executive, legislative and judicial branch, which makes up their government.
    Climate:
"The average temperatures in Iraq range from higher than 48 degree C (120 Fahrenheit) in July and August to below freezing in January. A majority of the rainfall occurs from December through April and is more abundant in the mountainous region and may reach 100 centimeters a year in some places.the shamal, a steady wind from the north and northwest, prevails from mid-June to mid-September. Dust storms accompany these winds and may rise to height of several thousand meters, causing hazardous flying conditions and closing airports for brief periods of time.Extremes of temperatures and humidity, coupled with the scarcity of water, will effect both men and equipment. Air operations may be reduced during windy season. The Iraqi climate is similar to that of the extreme southwestern United States with hot, dry summers, cold winters, and a pleasant spring and fall. Roughly 90% of the annual rainfall occurs between November and April, most of it in the winter months from December through March. The remaining six months, particularly the hottest ones of June, July, and August, at approximately 102 F (32 C), are dry. The influence of the Persian Gulf on the climate of Iraq is very limited. Near the gulf the relative humidity is higher than in other parts of the country. In the western and southern desert region, the climate is characterized by hot summers and cool winters. This region also receives brief violent rainstorms in the winter that usually total about 10 centimeters (cm). The winter rainfall normally averages about 38 centimeters (cm). The nights are generally clear in the summer and in the winter dense clouds are common about half of the nights."-http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/iraq/climate.htm
